Saga Prefectural Forest Park has a 35,000 sq m lawn plaza, one of the largest in the prefecture, and there is no better place to lay out a picnic sheet and eat a packed lunch. Trees stand around the edges, so you can move your sheet into the shade as the angle of the sun changes, which helps. After eating, head for the big combination playground at the Learning Plaza. It is large enough for a proper workout, so elementary school children can burn off all their energy here at once. For smaller children there is toddler-sized combination equipment at the Health Plaza, so siblings of different ages each find their own place to play. The symbolic fountain in the natural pond also runs from April 25 until mid-October, and looks refreshingly cool from the plaza.

佐賀県立森林公園じゃぶじゃぶ池（せせらぎ広場）は、せせらぎ広場の中央に広がる無料の水遊び場です。2026年の期間は4月25日から10月中旬までで、公式の「ご利用案内」にも「じゃぶじゃぶ池期間：4月25日～10月中旬（2026年）」と記されています。水深は約10cmと浅く、ろ過設備も備わっているので、靴を脱いで水とふれあう小さな子の水遊びに向いています。入園料も駐車場も無料なので、天気のよい日に思い立って出かけられるのがいちばんの魅力です。水に飽きたら学びの広場の大型複合遊具や広い芝生広場に戻れて、休みながら何度でも池へ戻れるのがこの公園のよいところ。夕方の光が水面に反射する時間帯は特にきれいで、一日の締めくくりにぴったりです。

Tips

終了日は「10月中旬」とのみ公表されているため、9月下旬以降に出かける場合は公式サイトの「ご利用案内」で当日の状況を確かめてください。靴を脱いで入る池なので、脱いだ靴とタオルをまとめる袋があると散らかりません。日陰は木立のあるあたりに限られるので、レジャーシートやタープで休憩場所をつくると長く遊べます。ぬれた体は冷えやすいので、上がったらすぐ拭いて着替えられるよう、タオルは人数分より少し多めに用意しておくと安心です。

Tips

Admission and parking are both free, so you can leave your things in the car and move around lightly. Since the plan is to head for the splash pond after working up a sweat on the playground, carrying one complete set of spare clothes saves a second trip. The lawn is so wide that landmarks are few, so agreeing on a meeting point such as the playground or the fountain avoids getting lost. On days of strong sun, a pop-up canopy or a large parasol makes breaks much easier.
