A commercial complex directly connected to Maruyama-koen subway station, with restaurants and a supermarket. After walking around the zoo and the shrine, being able to settle down and eat somewhere air-conditioned is a big advantage for families. Buying drinks and snacks for the afternoon water play here in one go means no trouble on site. There are restrooms and baby-care facilities inside, so you can get everything ready before changing. Maruyama Park (円山公園) is a short walk away, so there is barely any travelling after the meal.

円山公園水遊び場は、園内のせせらぎで水遊びが楽しめる無料の水辺です。例年7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放されます(札幌市の案内は7月上旬〜8月下旬)。円山原始林に続く林の木陰にあるため、真夏でも水の冷たさと日陰の涼しさが両方味わえるのがこの場所の魅力です。流れは浅く、歩き始めの子でも足をひたすところから遊べます。園内にはトイレがあり、着替えもその場で済ませられます。地下鉄円山公園駅から歩いて行けるので、遊び疲れた帰り道が短いのも家族連れにはうれしいところです。

Tips

せせらぎの石は滑りやすいので、水遊び用サンダルを履かせてください。木立が深いぶん蚊がいることがあるため、虫よけがあると快適です。開放は16:00までなので、15時半ごろから体を拭いて着替えを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。天候によって水が流れていない日もあるので、当日の状況を確認してから向かいましょう。

Tips

It is crowded at lunchtime, so arriving in the first half of the 12 o'clock hour makes it easier to get a table. Shopping after water play means wet luggage, so buy what you need at mealtime. It is directly connected to the subway station, so getting about is easy even if it rains.
