A large park spread over the hills of Nishi-ku, where woodland and walking trails are the main draw. Though it sits close to the city, once you step inside you are wrapped in trees, in a quiet setting where birdsong and rustling leaves carry. The ground rises and falls, so it makes for a satisfying walk, and the abundant shade keeps it relatively cool even in midsummer. Choose the well-maintained paths and it is easy going with children, and even a short stroll gives you the air of the forest. Admission is free, making it just right for spending the time quietly before the afternoon water play.

札幌市西区の桜公園にある「桜公園水遊び場」は、無料で利用できる浅い水遊び場です。開設期間は2026年6月6日(土)から9月6日(日)まで、時間は9:00〜17:00と、夏をまるごとカバーする長さがあります。水深が浅いので、水に慣れていない小さな子どもでも自分の足で入っていけます。地下鉄宮の沢駅からも近い住宅街の公園で、買い物や食事のついでに立ち寄れる気軽さが魅力です。入れ替え時間がないため、遊びと休憩を子どものペースで繰り返せます。料金は無料なので、午後だけ短く立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

終了は17:00です。着替えと片づけを考えて16:45ごろには水から上がりましょう。天候や水温、清掃作業によって利用できない日があるため、出かける前に札幌市の案内ページで当日の状況を確認してください。日陰が限られる時間帯があるので、帽子と日焼け止めは忘れずに。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意しましょう。

Tips

There are dirt paths and slopes, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Insects appear in summer, so repellent makes the visit more pleasant. The park is large, so check the signboards and turn back at a comfortable point. Bring your own drinks.
