Teine Shrine

Flow of the course

About this spot

This shrine in Teine-ku has long been loved as the guardian shrine of the community. It is within walking distance of JR Teine Station, yet the precincts hold a quietness that is hard to believe so close to the bustle in front of the station. Purifying your hands at the water basin and putting your palms together at the main hall is a short experience that stays in a child's memory. The precincts are not too large, so families with small children can visit without feeling overwhelmed. Talking about how the town of Teine came to be as you walk makes the park you play in later that afternoon look a little different, too.

Tips

Spend your time quietly in the precincts, and it is polite to avoid walking down the center of the approach path. Follow the on-site notices for the conditions of parking use. Check the official information for the hours of the amulet office. Summer sunshine is strong, so taking a break in the shade before moving on is more comfortable.

Best time to visit

About 50 minutes. A morning visit, when there are fewer people, is the most peaceful.
