A large shopping mall on the west side of Asahikawa City, with restaurants and a food court. Everyone in the family can choose something different, so even children with differing tastes can be satisfied in one place. Being indoors and air-conditioned is a major advantage, letting you pass the hours of strongest sunlight without spending energy. Drinks and snacks for the afternoon water play, and any towel you forgot, can all be picked up here. Toilets and nappy-changing facilities are well equipped, so finish all your preparations for the afternoon here.

春光園徒渉池は、旭川市の春光園に夏のあいだだけ開かれる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は6月1日(月)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜17:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って歩き回れるのが安心なところ。順番待ちも入れ替えもないので、入っては上がりを子どものペースで繰り返せます。大きな木が育った古い公園なので木陰が多く、大人が休みながら見守れるのも助かる点です。午前に歩いた歴史ある街並みと同じ場所で、今の子どもたちの声が響くという対比も、この一日ならではの味わいになります。

Tips

開放は10:00〜17:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになることがあるため、出発前に旭川市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室は用意されていない前提で、水着は下に着ていくと着替えが楽になります。木陰は多めですが、レジャーシートがあると荷物置きと休憩場所を兼ねられて便利です。北海道の夏は日が傾くと急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織れる薄手の一枚を必ず持っていきましょう。

Tips

Seats fill up at lunchtime, so securing a table before you order makes for a calmer meal. Doing the shopping after the meal saves you carrying bags around. The car park is large, so photographing where you parked prevents confusion on the way back. Leaving swimwear and towels in the car and going in unencumbered is recommended.
