Teganuma Park (手賀沼公園)
About this spot
This is the waterside park that represents Abiko City, spreading across the western end of Lake Tega (手賀沼). The lawn is wide and shade is scattered here and there, making it just the right place to spread a picnic sheet and eat your lunch. A breeze comes across the lake, so even at the height of summer the shade is pleasant to sit in. There are play equipment and a boat landing, so you can move about a little after eating before heading into the afternoon. Kita-Kashiwa Furusato Park is close along the lakeshore, and the short journey is a help for families.

Venue: 柏市・北柏ふるさと公園
柏市の北柏ふるさと公園にある、無料の水遊び場「北柏ふるさと公園 じゃぶじゃぶ池」です。2026年は7月17日(金)から8月31日(月)まで、9時から16時まで開放されます。8月1日(土)から3日(月)、8月17日(月)から18日(火)は休止になるので、お盆前後に出かける場合はとくに日付の確認が欠かせません。足をつけて遊ぶ施設のため、泳いだり顔を水につけたりすることはできず、60cmを超える大型の浮き輪も使えません。手賀沼の西端に広がる開けた公園で、芝生と水辺の景色が気持ちよく、家族でのんびり過ごすのに向いています。雨天や前日の豪雨で中止になることがあるため、前日からの天気も見ておきましょう。
Tips
大型浮き輪は使えないので、持っていくなら水鉄砲やバケツなど足元で遊べる道具が向いています。開けた場所で日陰が限られるため、帽子とラッシュガードで日差し対策をしてください。16時で終了なので、15時台には着替えを始めるとあわてずに済みます。水遊びのあとは体が冷えるので、乾いたタオルと着替えを多めに用意しましょう。
Tips
Shady spots fill up before noon, so arrive early and secure a place under a tree. Whether the shop is open varies from day to day, so preparing drinks and lunch in advance is the sure approach. There are toilets inside the park. Rather than going straight into the water after eating, resting a little before moving on is easier on the body.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. Arriving in the 11 o'clock hour, when you can still claim shade, is recommended.
