About this spot
This is the area of long slides and play equipment built into the hillside, known as the signature attraction of Showa no Mori. Because the slope itself is used, the slides are long, and walking back up to the top afterwards makes the round trip good exercise in itself. There are many trees around, so you can wait your turn in the shade, which is a real help in midsummer. There is adventure-style equipment as well, so children of different ages can each find something to suit them. Working up a sweat here before the afternoon water play makes the moment you step into the water feel especially good.

千葉市緑区の昭和の森にある、無料の水遊び場「昭和の森 水と緑のあそび場」です。105.8haという広大な総合公園の中の水辺にあり、まわりに木が多いため木陰を確保しやすいのが最大の特徴です。真夏でも直射日光を避けながら遊べるので、小さな子連れでも体力を消耗しすぎずに過ごせます。開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の開放となっています。公式に開設期間の記載がないため、出かける前に管理事務所(043-294-3845)へ確認してください。入園は無料で、展望台や大すべり台と組み合わせれば、1日をこの公園の中だけで組み立てられるのも魅力です。

Tips
Slides can leave you hot or dirty, so a mat to sit on and a change of clothes are reassuring. Play equipment can get hot in summer, so touch it first before letting children play. Take frequent breaks in the shade and keep drinking water while you play. Wear trainers you can move in, and prepare separate water shoes so the switch goes smoothly.
