About this spot

One of the largest parks in the prefecture, spreading across the Arakawa riverbed. The air inside the woodland of tall trees stays cool even in midsummer, and spreading a picnic sheet in the shade makes a very pleasant lunch spot. It is also known as a bird-watching site, and if you listen carefully you will hear all kinds of calls. The grounds are so vast that it rarely feels crowded, making it easy to create a space just for your family. The sense of openness, which makes you forget you are in an urban area, is this park's greatest charm.

さいたま市桜区の「荒川総合運動公園通り水遊び場」です。2026年は5月1日(金)から10月末頃(2026年は10月31日(土)頃)まで、9:00〜17:00の時間帯に利用できます(清掃等により利用できない場合あり)。遊歩道沿いに噴水と浅い流れが設けられていて、利用は無料。半年近くにわたって開いているのが最大の特徴で、真夏の混雑を避けて初夏や秋口に訪れるという選択ができます。荒川の広い河川敷に近い開けた立地なので、景色がのびやかで気持ちがよいのもこの場所ならでは。散歩の途中に足を冷やす、といった気軽な使い方もできます。

Tips

清掃等により利用できない日があるため、遠方から向かう場合はさいたま市公園緑地協会の案内で当日の状況を確認しておくと安心です。日陰が少ない場所もあるので、日よけと飲み物は多めに用意しましょう。更衣室の記載はないので、水着は服の下に着ていくのが確実。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、こまめに休憩をはさんでください。

Tips

The park is very large, so deciding on your car park in advance saves you from getting lost. Mosquitoes are common in summer, so insect repellent and a long-sleeved layer keep you comfortable. Shops are limited, so bringing your lunch and drinks with you is recommended.
