About this spot

A prefectural art museum standing inside Kita-Urawa Park (北浦和公園). The building itself, designed by the architect Kisho Kurokawa (黒川紀章), is a highlight, and the glass-walled lobby is bright and open. Famous chairs from around the world are placed inside, and being able to actually sit and rest on them is a thoughtful touch typical of this museum. Sculptures are also dotted around the outdoor park, so you can enjoy them on a stroll without going in. The MOMAS Collection, which introduces works from the museum holdings, can be seen for a modest fee, and the scale is just right as an introduction to art for children.

さいたま市浦和区の「北浦和東公園水遊び場」です。2026年は7月4日(土)から8月30日(日)まで、9:00〜18:00の時間帯に利用できます(清掃等により利用できない場合あり)。利用は無料で、芝生に囲まれた浅い流れなので、水深を気にせず小さな子を遊ばせられるのが安心なところ。18時まで開いているため、日が長い夏は夕方からゆっくり遊ぶという使い方もできます。町なかの公園なので、駅から歩いて立ち寄れる気軽さも魅力。夏休みのほぼ全期間にわたって開いているので、予定を組みやすい水遊び場です。

Tips

清掃等により利用できない日があるため、遠方から向かう場合はさいたま市公園緑地協会の案内で当日の状況を確認しておくと安心です。更衣室の記載はないので、水着は服の下に着ていくのが確実。芝生にレジャーシートを敷けば、大人は座って見守れます。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊びましょう。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。

Tips

Special exhibitions and collection exhibitions have separate fees. Fees and closing days can change, so please check the official website in advance. Kita-Urawa Park (北浦和公園) has a musical fountain, and if the timing works you can enjoy a show of water and sound. It is quiet inside the museum, so a word to small children beforehand keeps things smooth.
