This is the leading large shopping complex in the Wasada district of Oita City, only a short drive from Nanasegawa Nature Park. With a food court and restaurants on hand, families will appreciate being able to choose lunch to suit what the children like. At the grocery section you can pick up drinks, ice and snacks for the afternoon in the water all at once. Cooling off in the air-conditioned building helps you hold up better under the blazing afternoon sun. Sunscreen or sandals you forgot to pack can also be found here.

大分市稙田地区にある七瀬川自然公園の「七瀬川自然公園せせらぎ水路」は、26,000平方メートルの芝生広場を囲むように流れる全長約300メートルの水路です。水深が浅くゆるやかな流れなので、歩いたり座ったり、水をすくったりと、小さな子どもでも自分のペースで水に親しめます。水路のまわりは見晴らしのよい芝生で、保護者が木陰から見守りやすいのも安心なポイント。遊具広場にはいろいろな滑り台のある複合遊具やターザンロープがあり、小さい子ども用の遊具もそろっているので、水から上がったあとも遊びが途切れません。あやとり橋を渡ったり、休憩施設「ななせの家」でひと息ついたりと、園内だけで一日が過ぎていきます。バーベキューエリアや野外ステージ、多目的グラウンドも備えた広い公園で、夏の定番のおでかけ先です。

Tips

せせらぎ水路の通水期間は大分市の公式ページに記載がないため、出発前に大分市へ確認しておくと確実です。日陰を確保するにはワンタッチテントかタープがあると快適で、木陰の場所は早い時間ほど取りやすくなります。水路の底は場所によって滑りやすいので、かかとの留まる水遊び用サンダルを履かせてください。着替えは一人2セットあると、遊具遊びに戻るときも気持ちよく過ごせます。

Tips

Arriving for lunch before noon makes it easier to get a food court seat. Buy ice and cold packs last and take them straight to the cooler box so they melt more slowly. If you plan to return after water play, changing clothes first makes the visit more comfortable.
