This municipal library in central Hita City has a well-stocked children's book section. Time spent choosing a favorite picture book in the air-conditioned interior gives a change of pace from the hot outdoors and helps children settle down. The local-materials shelves include books on the history and nature of Hita, which can spark interest in the background of the Mikuma River (三隈川) and the park you are about to visit. Once you have finished reading, have a drink of water and set off for the afternoon water play.
