About this spot

This is Saitama Prefecture's nature study facility, located inside Kitamoto Nature Observation Park (北本自然観察公園). You can learn about the insects, birds and plants that live in the wetlands and coppice woods along the Arakawa River (荒川) through both exhibits and real observation. Inside, seasonal information about the local wildlife is posted, which is handy for checking what can be seen today before you head outdoors. The park has boardwalks and walking paths, so you can stroll while peering into the wetlands. Children with insect nets are a constant sight here, making it the gateway to Kitamoto's nature. Admission is free.

北本市の北本市子供公園にある「北本市子供公園せせらぎ」です。利用できるのは例年4月下旬から9月まで(2026年は4月25日(土)頃〜9月30日(水)頃)、9:30〜17:00の時間帯です。第4月曜は休園(祝日の場合は翌日)なので、その日は避けて計画してください。小さな滝と川、じゃぶじゃぶ池がつながった造りで、水の流れをたどりながら遊べるのが子どもには何より楽しいところ。さらにふわふわドームやすべり台、噴水エリアもそろっているので、水に飽きたら遊具、遊具に飽きたらまた水と、自分のペースで一日中遊び続けられます。利用は無料で、4月下旬から9月末まで長く開いているのも計画を立てやすい点です。

Tips

第4月曜は休園です(祝日の場合は翌日が休園)。日程を決めるときに必ず確認してください。ふわふわドームは日差しで表面が熱くなることがあるので、触れる前に確かめましょう。水と遊具を行き来するので、着替えは多めに用意しておくと快適です。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊んでください。

Tips

There are many mosquitoes in summer, so insect repellent and a long-sleeved layer make the walk more comfortable. The boardwalks are slippery when wet, so watch your footing. There are closed days, so if you are coming from outside Saitama City, check the opening days in advance.
