About this spot

This park in Takao, Kitamoto City, is planted with many varieties of cherry trees. Because it sits on a plateau close to the Arakawa River (荒川), the surroundings are open and breezy, and spreading a picnic sheet in the shade makes for a pleasant lunch spot. In spring the draw is the cherry varieties that bloom at staggered times, but in summer the welcome feature is the thick shade cast by the leaves. Being a local park that never gets too crowded, it is easy to carve out time just for your family. Resting here once before the afternoon water play helps everyone keep their energy up.

北本市の北本市子供公園にある「北本市子供公園せせらぎ」です。利用できるのは例年4月下旬から9月まで(2026年は4月25日(土)頃〜9月30日(水)頃)、9:30〜17:00の時間帯です。第4月曜は休園(祝日の場合は翌日)なので、その日は避けて計画してください。小さな滝と川、じゃぶじゃぶ池がつながった造りで、水の流れをたどりながら遊べるのが子どもには何より楽しいところ。さらにふわふわドームやすべり台、噴水エリアもそろっているので、水に飽きたら遊具、遊具に飽きたらまた水と、自分のペースで一日中遊び続けられます。利用は無料で、4月下旬から9月末まで長く開いているのも計画を立てやすい点です。

Tips

第4月曜は休園です(祝日の場合は翌日が休園)。日程を決めるときに必ず確認してください。ふわふわドームは日差しで表面が熱くなることがあるので、触れる前に確かめましょう。水と遊具を行き来するので、着替えは多めに用意しておくと快適です。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊んでください。

Choosing your shaded spot early makes things more comfortable. There are not many restaurants nearby, so it is best to prepare lunch and drinks in advance. Eating too much makes the afternoon water play harder, so keep lunch light. Checking where the toilets are beforehand is reassuring.
