About this spot

A park spreading out at the foot of Mount Miminashi (耳成山), the neatly cone-shaped peak among the Three Mountains of Yamato. Groves of trees line a pond that mirrors the mountain, and even in midsummer the shaded benches catch a breeze and stay comfortable. It is just right for opening a packed lunch, and even a single loop around the pond after eating changes the mood. There is a path up to the summit, but on a day with water play ahead, keeping to a stroll at the foot is the sensible choice. Rest up for the afternoon while looking at the mountain rising in front of you.

「東竹田近隣公園親水広場」は、橿原市の公式案内に「夏には親水広場で水遊びを楽しむことができます」と記された無料の水遊び場です。開設期間は未発表ですが、例年は夏季に楽しめます。水に飽きたら、小学生以上向けの大きな複合遊具と幼児用の小さな複合遊具を年齢に合わせて遊び分けられるのがこの公園の強みです。車いすのまま利用できるインクルーシブ遊具のブランコもあり、いろいろな子が同じ場所で一緒に遊べるよう考えられています。多目的広場・芝生広場・修景池を含めて公園面積は19,855平方メートルあり、木陰を選んでレジャーシートを広げれば一日中のんびり過ごせます。ドーム型運動施設のかしはらグリーンドームが隣接しているので、天気が急に崩れたときの逃げ場にもなります。

Tips

There is no shop, so prepare lunch and drinks beforehand. Checking where the toilets are first makes things easier after eating. Insects appear during summer days, so repellent adds comfort. The water plaza is about a 10-minute drive away.
