About this spot

A municipal museum next to Nizawa Senzuka Tumulus Park where you can trace the history of Kashihara. Artifacts excavated from the burial mounds spreading out right in front of you are on display, making it real that life in a distant era took place just underfoot. The exhibits are compactly arranged, so even small children can finish a full circuit while their concentration holds. What makes this location interesting is that when you step outside afterwards, shapes that looked like nothing more than hills now clearly read as burial mounds. It is a chance to enjoy the park from a different angle before the water play.

Date & time: 龍の噴水は8時–18時運転、ミストの運転期間は5月–10月(橿原市公式)。清掃日は火曜・金曜で、清掃後は池に水が溜まるまで約半日かかる(雨天等により変更の場合あり)

「新沢千塚古墳群公園龍の広場(龍の池・龍の噴水)」は、古墳群の丘に囲まれた公園の中にある無料の水遊び場です。橿原市の公式案内によると、龍の噴水は8時から18時まで運転し、ミストの運転期間は5月から10月までとなっています。井戸水を使っているため水量は変動し、勢いよく出る日もあれば穏やかな日もあるという自然まかせの表情が魅力です。龍の広場では水遊びのほかに芝すべりや遊具でも遊べるので、水に飽きたら丘へ、丘に飽きたらまた水へと、子どもが自分のペースで一日を組み立てられます。園内には桜の広場や棚田の広場が広がり、歴史に憩う橿原市博物館やシルクの杜、OTENKIテラスも同じ敷地にそろっています。料金は無料なので、短時間だけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

清掃日は火曜・金曜で、清掃後は池に水が溜まるまで約半日かかります(雨天等により変更の場合あり)。この曜日に行く場合は午後遅めに合わせるか、別の日を選ぶと確実です。井戸水のため水量が日によって変わるので、噴水の勢いを期待しすぎず、ミストや芝すべりも含めて楽しむ計画にしておくと安心。芝すべりをするなら段ボールやヒップそりを持参し、遊んだあとは水道で足をよく洗ってから着替えましょう。

Tips

Check opening hours, closed days and admission fees on the official website in advance. The building is air-conditioned, so it is also a dependable rest stop on a hot day. The exhibition rooms are quiet spaces, so a word to small children beforehand keeps things smooth. The park's water play area is within walking distance.
