Taga Castle Ruins (多賀城跡)

About this spot

This is a Special National Historic Site where, in the Nara period, the government office that ruled Tohoku was located. The buildings are gone, but the foundation stones and layout of the government-office site have been laid out, and standing on the hill you can physically sense how large the complex was. It is an open place with few obstructions, making it ideal for children who are at the age when they want to run around. Restoration work is under way, so what you can see changes depending on when you visit, which is another interesting point. Connecting it with the displays you saw at the museum deepens a child's understanding considerably.

宮城県利府町にある「モリリン加瀬沼公園プレイパークエリア(水遊び・砂遊び)」です。水遊びと砂遊びが同じ場所でできるので、水をすくって砂に流したり、掘った溝に水を通したりと、子どもが自分で遊びを発明していけるのが最大の魅力です。利用は無料で、加瀬沼を囲む広い公園の中にあるため、水辺と林の景色を眺めながらゆったり過ごせます。管理棟には多目的スペースと授乳室、おむつ替えスペースがあり、赤ちゃん連れの家族でも拠点をつくりやすい造りです。4月から9月までの開園時間は8:00から18:00までと長く、日ざしがやわらぐ夕方まで遊べます。

Tips

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に施設の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。開園は8:00、閉園は18:00なので、着替えと片づけの時間を見込んで17:00前には切り上げると余裕をもって帰れます。砂と水の両方で汚れるため、着替えは多めに、砂を落とせるタオルとビニール袋を用意してください。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。管理棟のトイレと授乳室の場所を到着時に確認しておくと、その後が楽になります。

Tips

There is little shade, so do not forget hats and drinks. The lawn can get muddy after rain, so shoes you do not mind dirtying give peace of mind. Some areas may be closed off depending on restoration work, so follow the on-site signs. To save energy for the afternoon water play, keep the walking short.
