This is a shopping complex at the east exit of Sendai Station, with restaurants gathered together inside. It is within walking distance of Tsutsujigaoka Park (榴岡公園) and sits at just the right point to serve as a break between the morning sightseeing and the afternoon water play. Cooling down properly in the air-conditioned interior makes the afternoon heat much easier to bear. There is a drugstore and a large retail store nearby, so you will have no trouble picking up towels, swim diapers or drinks. Being close to the station, the trip home is short even when you are carrying wet luggage.

仙台市宮城野区の榴岡公園にある、無料の「榴岡公園噴水広場の水遊び場」です。噴水彫刻「杜のうた」のまわりが水遊びエリアになっていて、水しぶきを浴びながら走り回れます。すぐそばに芝生広場と遊具があるので、水に飽きたら遊具、走り疲れたらまた水へと、子どもが自分のペースで一日を組み立てられます。トイレが園内にあり、着替えや休憩の場所に困りません。桜の名所として知られる公園ですが、夏は大きな木が日陰をつくってくれるので、木の下に陣取ると休憩が快適になります。料金は無料なので、夕方に少しだけ涼みに寄る使い方もできます。

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に仙台市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。駐車場は有料なので、公共交通機関を使うと費用も渋滞の心配も減らせます。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。遊んだあとは足元をよく流し、着替えてから帰ると体が冷えません。

Tips

It gets crowded around noon on weekends, so arriving in the second half of the 11 o'clock hour makes it easier to get a seat. Parking at Tsutsujigaoka Park (榴岡公園) is paid, so if you come by car, check the fees and time limits in advance. Securing plastic bags and spare towels here in preparation for the afternoon water play makes the trip home easier.
