About this spot

This rose garden occupies one corner of Awakigahara Forest Park Citizens Forest, which spreads through the pine woods of Hitotsuba. Roses are arranged by variety in neatly kept beds, and simply walking along reading the name plates turns into a small botany lesson. Because the garden is surrounded by pines, the strong sunlight is softened, which makes even a midsummer morning relatively comfortable for walking. The paths are flat and easy to manage with a stroller, and resting spots are dotted along the way. This Citizens Forest also manages the North Entrance Fountain Plaza you visit in the afternoon, so the whole day feels like moving around inside a single park.

「国際海浜エントランスプラザ北エントランス噴水広場」は、宮崎市一ツ葉にある緑に囲まれた水遊び場です。公園の公式案内が「親水施設[噴水]1箇所」と明記しており、2026年は令和8年7月18日(土)から9月27日(日)まで、9:00〜17:00で水遊びができます。周囲を木々が囲んでいるため直射日光がやわらぎ、真夏でも比較的過ごしやすいのが特徴です。隣には草花広場とお花見広場があり、水に飽きたら散歩に出て気分を変えられます。東屋2棟とベンチ2台があるので、荷物番をしながら交代で見守るスタイルにも向いています。管理は阿波岐原森林公園市民の森が行っています。

Tips

降雨時は中止となります。また清掃日は噴水を停止し終日利用休止となり、日程は別途案内されるため、出発前に公園からのお知らせを確認してください。噴水まわりの床は濡れると滑りやすいので、走らないよう声をかけましょう。17時に終了となるため、着替えの時間を見込んで16時半には切り上げ始めると余裕があります。日陰は限られているので、東屋が埋まっている場合に備えて簡易テントやシートがあると便利です。

Tips

Roses are mainly at their best in spring and autumn, so in summer it is best to come expecting to enjoy the green shade of the pines and the wide paths rather than the blooms. Humidity is high even in the shade, so drink water frequently. Insects are plentiful in this season, so applying repellent before you start walking makes it far more pleasant.
