Ikime no Mori Yukokan (Miyazaki City Buried Cultural Property Center)

This facility beside the Ikime Burial Mound Group handles Miyazaki City's buried cultural properties. Materials such as earthenware unearthed from sites around the city are on display, letting you confirm through objects just what kind of people the mounds you have only just walked belonged to. The air-conditioned interior also makes an ideal rest stop for cooling a body heated by walking outside. The exhibition is compact, so you can finish it while a small child's attention still holds, which is another help. The second half of the morning is allotted to quiet indoor time so that everyone can play hard in the water in the afternoon.

「大坪池公園噴水広場」は、宮崎市の大坪池公園(福祉文化公園)の一角にある、夏季のみ稼働する平面噴水です。宮崎市は公式に「公園の一角には平面噴水が設置され終日子供たちのはしゃぎ声でいっぱい」と紹介しており、地面から水が吹き上がるタイプなので、深さを気にせず小さな子でも安心して遊べます。開設は7月から9月末までの予定で、時間は8:00〜19:00と長く、朝でも夕方でも都合のよい時間に立ち寄れるのが便利です。園内には芝生広場、遊具、散策路がそろい、水に飽きたら遊具、体が冷えたら芝生でひと休みと、子どもが自分のペースで遊び続けられます。東屋1棟とベンチ2台があるので、大人は日陰から見守れます。
