Ikime Burial Mound Group (生目古墳群)

About this spot

This nationally designated historic site spreads across a plateau overlooking the Oyodo River (大淀川) in the western part of Miyazaki City. Mounds large and small dot the grassed hill, and some are keyhole-shaped tombs more than a hundred meters long; standing on top of one, you feel in your body how great the power behind their construction must have been. The paths are well maintained and easy to walk, so children can run around while adults take in the scenery at their own pace. Although it is a historic site, it is open as a park, so there is nothing stiff about it and you can drop in casually. In summer there is little to block the sun, so walking it early in the morning is the right call.

Venue: 宮崎市・大坪池公園(福祉文化公園)

「大坪池公園噴水広場」は、宮崎市の大坪池公園(福祉文化公園)の一角にある、夏季のみ稼働する平面噴水です。宮崎市は公式に「公園の一角には平面噴水が設置され終日子供たちのはしゃぎ声でいっぱい」と紹介しており、地面から水が吹き上がるタイプなので、深さを気にせず小さな子でも安心して遊べます。開設は7月から9月末までの予定で、時間は8:00〜19:00と長く、朝でも夕方でも都合のよい時間に立ち寄れるのが便利です。園内には芝生広場、遊具、散策路がそろい、水に飽きたら遊具、体が冷えたら芝生でひと休みと、子どもが自分のペースで遊び続けられます。東屋1棟とベンチ2台があるので、大人は日陰から見守れます。

宮崎市の公式ページに2026年の開設期間の明示はありません。地元の子育て情報誌の2026年版は「7/1(月)」と表記していますが、2026年7月1日は水曜で曜日が一致しないため前年度掲載の残留の可能性があります。訪れる前に宮崎市の公園案内で当日の稼働を確認しましょう。噴水まわりは濡れると滑りやすいので、走らないよう声をかけてください。19時まで水が出るので、日中の暑さを避けて夕方から遊ぶ使い方もできます。

Tips

There is little shade, so be sure to carry a hat and drinks. The slopes of the mounds are slippery, so take great care when running down. An exhibition facility stands right next door, so plan to retreat indoors early once the walking makes you hot.
