Tenmon Bridge (天門橋)

About this spot

This white pedestrian bridge spanning the canal is the symbol of Fugan Canal Kansui Park (富岩運河環水公園). Climb the observation towers at either end and you can see the surface of the canal, the streets of Toyama and, in good weather, all the way to the Tateyama Mountain Range (立山連峰). Whenever a Fugan Suijo Line (富岩水上ライン) boat passes beneath the bridge, children invariably lean out and wave. Looking down over the park from here before entering the Fountain Plaza gives you a clear picture of where to play next and makes the rest of the day easier. The Spring and Waterfall Plaza (泉と滝の広場) and the open-air theater are close by, so you can make a circuit of the park on foot.
