About this spot

In central Yamagata City, this tourism and exchange facility was created from the residence and storehouses of a safflower merchant. The grounds hold a building where you can eat and a farm-direct corner, so a meal made with Yamagata ingredients and a souvenir hunt are both done in one stop. In summer, prefecture-grown fruit such as cherries and watermelon lines the shelves, and just looking gives you a sense of the season. The courtyard has a calm atmosphere, making it just the right space to catch your breath after eating. Although it is in the middle of town it stays quiet, which makes it an easy rest stop before the afternoon water play.

山形市児童遊戯施設べにっこひろばの屋外施設にある水遊び場が「べにっこひろばちゃぷちゃぷひろば(噴水)」です。市公式は「ちゃぷちゃぷひろば(噴水) ※夏期のみ」と記載するのみで、開設期間は未発表のため、必ず出発前に稼働状況を確認してください。屋外施設の開園時間は9:00〜19:00、休園日は毎月第2木曜日と1月1日です。噴水のまわりにはエアー遊具の「ふわふわどーむ」、ローラーすべりだい、自転車練習場の「ちゃりんじひろば」、すなばがそろっていて、水に飽きても遊びが途切れません。飲食コーナー「ぱくぱくひろば」や子育て支援センターが併設されているので、休憩や授乳のタイミングもとりやすい構成です。日が長い季節は夕方の涼しい時間帯まで遊べるのも、この場所ならではの利点です。

Tips

令和8年7月1日から山形市外在住者は入園料1人1回500円ですが、「べにっこひろばの屋外施設のみ利用される方」は無料です。1歳未満児、障がいのある方と介助者1名も無料になります。ローラーすべりだいは濡れた服のままだと滑りにくいので、水遊びと遊具は着替えを挟んで切り替えると快適です。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。

Tips

Lunchtime on weekends gets crowded, so arriving early, around 11:00, means a calmer meal. If you buy fresh produce from the farm-direct corner, a cooler bag helps since car interiors get very hot. Benikko Hiroba (べにっこひろば) is about 15 minutes away by car.
