Oka Choshizuka Burial Mound

About this spot

In one corner of Yatsushiro Furusato Park, the nationally designated historic Choshizuka Burial Mound (銚子塚古墳) and Sakazukizuka Burial Mound (盃塚古墳) stand side by side, restored and maintained. The grass-covered mounds can be climbed on foot, and from the top the Kofu Basin (甲府盆地) opens up widely. At the Tenbo Furusato Hall in the park you can see exhibits about the area's history and its burial mounds, which help you understand the meaning of the mounds you just saw outside. For children, the very experience of climbing on top of a huge tomb is unusual and memorable. A maglev observatory is also nearby, so combining the two lets you enjoy the view twice.

八代ふるさと公園親水広場(水の遊び場)は、丘の上の公園にある夏の水遊びスポットです。利用は無料で、まわりに芝生広場が広がっているため、水から上がったらすぐにシートを敷いて休めます。丘の上なので風が抜け、盆地の街なかよりも過ごしやすいのがこの公園の強みです。園内には令和6年4月にリニューアルした古墳モチーフの大型複合遊具、わんぱく広場、国史跡の銚子塚古墳と盃塚古墳、桜300本の桜の森、展望ふるさと館、リニア展望台、多目的広場までそろっており、水遊びに飽きても行き先に困りません。遊びと学びを行ったり来たりできる、笛吹市らしい公園です。

Tips

料金は無料です。開設期間は未発表(例年は夏季)なので、出発前に笛吹市の公式ページ(https://www.city.fuefuki.yamanashi.jp/shisetsu/koen/005.html)で必ず確認してください。日差しをさえぎるものが限られるので、ポップアップテントかタープがあると快適です。丘の上まで坂を上がるため、ベビーカーより抱っこひものほうが動きやすい場面があります。着替えの場所は限られるので、タオルポンチョを用意しておくと安心です。

Tips

Viewing is free. The mounds have slopes, so take care when running down. There is little shade, so drink water frequently. Please check the facility's information for the opening days of the Tenbo Furusato Hall.
