Kasamatsu Dragonfly Paradise

About this spot

A protected area laid out on the banks of the Kiso River in Kasamatsu Town to preserve the habitat where dragonflies live. Ponds, grassland, and stands of trees are combined here, and in summer many species of dragonfly fill the air. Rather than chasing them with a net, this is a place suited to quietly watching them skim back and forth just above the water, or perch motionless on the tip of a slender blade of grass. You can also meet other waterside creatures such as dragonfly nymphs and frogs. Stop by as a chance to turn your attention to waterside nature before the afternoon water play.

羽島郡笠松町の木曽川河畔にある無料の水遊び場「笠松みなと公園じゃぶじゃぶ池・せせらぎ水路」です。浅く整えられたじゃぶじゃぶ池と、細く水が流れるせせらぎ水路がセットになっていて、年齢に合わせて遊び方を選べます。まだ歩き始めたばかりの子は水路のふちで水にふれるところから、走り回れる子は池の中で水をかけあってと、それぞれのペースで楽しめるつくりです。同じ園内に遊具と芝生広場があるので、水にあきたら遊具、疲れたら芝生でひと休みと行き来できるのも助かります。木曽川の堤がすぐそばにあり、川の町らしい開けた景色の中で過ごせるのもこの公園ならではです。

2026年の開設期間と稼働時間は未発表です。出発前に必ず笠松町の公式サイトで確認してください。利用は無料です。池の底で足を痛めないよう、水遊び用サンダルやマリンシューズを用意しましょう。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけると着替えがスムーズです。日陰が限られるので、レジャーシートと帽子、多めの飲み物を忘れずに。水の状態が良くない日は利用が止まることがあるため、現地の掲示に従ってください。

Tips

Walking here is free. It is a place for protecting living things, so follow the guidance on the signs and refrain from collecting them needlessly. In summer the grass grows tall and there are many mosquitoes, so long trousers and insect repellent make it more comfortable. Some sections have little shade, so do not forget a hat and drinks. The ground can be damp, so walk in shoes you do not mind getting dirty.
