Misaoyama Park Satoyama Center (操山公園里山センター)

About this spot

This is the hub facility for enjoying the wooded hills of Misaoyama, located in Sawada, Naka Ward, Okayama City. Inside are exhibits on Misaoyama's nature and ancient burial mounds, and outside a well-maintained trail leads on into the woodland. The trees are so dense that it is hard to believe you are only a few minutes by car from the city, and even in midsummer the path feels far cooler than the urban streets. You do not need a long mountain hike; just a short wander near the entrance is enough to encounter signs of insects and birds, which children love. With benches and shade available, it works well as a midday rest stop for spreading out the lunch you brought.

岡山市中区にある「おまちアクアガーデン水の遊具広場」は、名水百選に選ばれた「雄町の冷水」を活かした約1,500㎡の親水公園です。水の遊具のほか、足で踏んで水を汲み上げる水車や、滝の流れに連動して動くシーソーなど、体を使って水を動かす仕掛けがそろっています。ただ水に入って涼むだけでなく、「自分の力で水が動く」体験ができるので、小学生くらいの子も夢中になれるのがこの公園の面白さ。湧水の水くみ場もあり、地元の人が名水を汲みに訪れる様子も見られます。利用は無料で、公園の開園時間は9:00〜18:00です。

Tips

2026年の水の遊具の稼働期間は未発表なので、出発前に岡山市の案内で確認してください。毎月第1・第3金曜と年末年始は休園なので、曜日の確認も忘れずに。湧水は冷たいので、小さな子は体が冷えすぎないよう、こまめに上がって休憩をはさみましょう。水くみ場を使う場合は空のボトルを持参し、地元の方の利用の妨げにならないよう譲り合ってください。着替えとタオル、濡れた服を入れるビニール袋は人数分そろえておくと帰りが楽です。

Tips

Opening hours and closed days can change, so check before you go. Assume nothing is sold on site and bring your own lunch and drinks to be safe. Mosquitoes and wasps are around in summer, so insect repellent and clothing that does not leave too much skin exposed are recommended. Parts of the trail are sloped or unpaved, so there are stretches where a baby carrier moves more easily than a stroller.
