About this spot

An open plaza of broad lawn inside Shimane Prefectural Hamayama Park (島根県立浜山公園). Because it is surrounded by black pine woods there is plenty of shade, so even at the height of summer you can find a spot to settle down. It is close to the Forest Children's Plaza where the Jabujabu Stream is, which makes it convenient to spread out a boxed lunch, eat, and then move straight on to the afternoon's water play. A fruit grove and a cherry blossom garden are nearby too, and the plaza is just the right size for a short walk to settle your stomach after eating. It is the kind of open space where children invent their own games, from ball play to bug hunting.

島根県立浜山公園ジャブジャブ川 (林間こども広場)は、出雲市の島根県立浜山公園にある無料の水遊び場です。クロマツ林の林間こども広場の中を、全長160mにわたって人工の流れが通っており、夏季に通水し冬季は水が止まります。上流から下流までたどるだけでちょっとした冒険になり、木漏れ日の下なので真夏でも直射日光を避けながら遊べるのがこの場所の良さです。同じ広場には幼児用や身障者用を含む43基の遊具がそろっているので、水に飽きたら遊具、遊具に飽きたらまた水と、年齢の違うきょうだいでもそれぞれのペースで過ごせます。公園も遊具もジャブジャブ川も料金は無料で、有料なのは野球場やテニスコートなどの運動施設だけ。芝生の自由広場や果実の森、桜の園も隣接しているため、短時間だけ立ち寄る使い方から、夕方までのんびり過ごす使い方まで自由に組めます。

2026年の開設期間は未発表です。例年は夏休み期間ですが、出発前に島根県立浜山公園の公式ページ(https://www.pref.shimane.lg.jp/infra/toshi/koen/pref/hamashi.html)で通水状況を確認してください。冬季は水が止まっているため水遊びはできません。流れの底で足を切らないようマリンシューズがあると安心です。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意し、遊んだあとは着替えとタオルで体を冷やさないようにしましょう。松林は日差しがやわらぐ分だけ気づきにくいですが、こまめな水分補給と休憩を忘れずに。

Tips

There is not necessarily anywhere in the park to buy food, so it is safest to prepare a boxed lunch and drinks in advance. As a rule, take your rubbish home. The lawn can get muddy after rain, so shoes you do not mind dirtying and a ground sheet make it more comfortable. Avoid going into the water right after eating; rest for about 30 minutes before heading to the stream.
