About this spot

Inside Bihoku Hillside Park (国営備北丘陵公園), this area recreates the old rural village life of the Bihoku region. Thatched-roof farmhouses, a waterwheel, and paddies and fields spread out before you, so you feel as if you have slipped back to a Showa-era farming village without ever leaving the park. Seasonal hands-on programs such as plant dyeing and soba noodle making are sometimes held, giving children a living social studies lesson. The indoor earthen floors and verandas offer shelter from the sun, so they also serve well as a rest spot on hot days. Before the water play, take your time to savor the scenery that only this area can offer.

国営備北丘陵公園ジャブジャブ池は、2026年は7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで、9:30〜17:30(最終入場17:00)に開設される水遊び場です。全長約40m、水深は30cm未満と浅く、歩き始めたばかりの小さな子でも安心して足をひたせます。備北オートビレッジのエリアにあり、管理センター横に専用の駐車場が用意されているのが大きな利点。ジャブジャブ池そのものの利用は無料で、必要なのは公園の入園料だけです(中学生以下は無料)。簡易更衣室があるので、遊んだあとの着替えもスムーズ。中国山地のふところにある高原の公園らしく、木立を抜ける風が心地よい水遊び場です。

Tips

ジャブジャブ池の利用は無料ですが、公園の入園料が別途必要です(中学生以下は無料。金額は公式サイトで確認してください)。雨天・悪天候のときは中止になる場合があるため、出発前に開設状況を確認しましょう。専用駐車場は備北オートビレッジ管理センターの横にあります。簡易更衣室はありますが混み合うことがあるので、水着を服の下に着ていくと待たずに遊べます。水深は浅くても目を離さず、必ず保護者が付き添ってください。

Tips

Park admission is required separately (free for junior high school students and younger). Check the fees and the opening calendar on the official website. Hands-on programs are held only on limited days, so look up the schedule in advance if you want to join. The park is large, so entering from the gate closest to Hiba-no-Sato makes getting around much easier.
