About this spot

This spacious lawn area is the signature spot of Bihoku Hillside Park (国営備北丘陵公園), with the large play structure Kyu-no-Oka right next to it. The lawn stretches as far as you can see, so you will never struggle to find a place to spread out a picnic sheet for lunch. The play structure is a big one combining slides, nets and more, and getting some exercise before the water play makes the water afterward feel even better. Choose a spot with tree shade and the breeze runs through, keeping the area comfortable even in midsummer.

国営備北丘陵公園ジャブジャブ池は、2026年は7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで、9:30〜17:30(最終入場17:00)に開設される水遊び場です。全長約40m、水深は30cm未満と浅く、歩き始めたばかりの小さな子でも安心して足をひたせます。備北オートビレッジのエリアにあり、管理センター横に専用の駐車場が用意されているのが大きな利点。ジャブジャブ池そのものの利用は無料で、必要なのは公園の入園料だけです(中学生以下は無料)。簡易更衣室があるので、遊んだあとの着替えもスムーズ。中国山地のふところにある高原の公園らしく、木立を抜ける風が心地よい水遊び場です。

Tips

ジャブジャブ池の利用は無料ですが、公園の入園料が別途必要です(中学生以下は無料。金額は公式サイトで確認してください)。雨天・悪天候のときは中止になる場合があるため、出発前に開設状況を確認しましょう。専用駐車場は備北オートビレッジ管理センターの横にあります。簡易更衣室はありますが混み合うことがあるので、水着を服の下に着ていくと待たずに遊べます。水深は浅くても目を離さず、必ず保護者が付き添ってください。

Tips

Shade on the lawn is limited, so the trick is to claim a shaded spot early. Distances inside the park are long, so checking the park shuttle bus and rental cycle service at the entrance makes the day easier. Taking your trash home with you is the basic rule. Play equipment can get hot in the sun, so touch the slide surface to check the temperature before letting children play.
