Imabari Traffic Park Water Play Area

About this spot

The Imabari Traffic Park Water Play Area is a free water play spot in Imabari Traffic Park in Furukokubu, Imabari. Water is run through the channel that flows across the park, and children can dip their feet in or chase the current to cool down. Because they can get into the water after moving around on the go-karts and bicycles, families can spend a long time at the park even on hot days, which is this spot's real strength. It is not a facility for swimming like a pool, so think of it as a shallow channel for cooling off. Imabari City's official notice states that this year the water play period runs through Monday, August 31, and the opening date has not been announced. In summer the park is open every day except Monday, and when a Monday falls on a public holiday it is open on that Monday and closed on the Tuesday instead, so be sure to check before you set out.

Tips

Imabari City's notice clearly states that the channel is slippery, so take care. Avoid bare feet and beach sandals, and have children wear non-slip water shoes. There are no changing rooms or showers, so either go in clothes that can get wet or be ready to change in the car. Small children should wear swim diapers. The go-karts and bicycle rentals finish at 16:30. Stop immediately if you hear thunder, and take your rubbish home with you.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 45 minutes. The afternoon, after working up a sweat on the rides, feels the most refreshing.
