Imabari Traffic Park is a park of about 1.6 hectares where children can learn road safety on park roads that recreate traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. The go-karts run from 9:00 to 16:30 at 100 yen per kart per ride, and children's bicycles and novelty bicycles are rented out from 9:00 to 16:30 as well. Actually holding the wheel and obeying the signals sticks in the memory far better than being told the rules. The novelty bicycles all have oddly shaped frames, and the moments when you cannot make them go straight are fun in themselves. Moving on to water play after getting your body moving on the rides makes the coolness of the water feel even better.

Tips

今治市の案内で「水路は滑りやすいので注意」と明記されています。素足やビーチサンダルは避け、滑りにくいマリンシューズを履かせてください。更衣室やシャワーがある施設ではないため、濡れてもよい服で行くか、車内で着替えられる準備をしておくと安心です。小さな子は水遊び用おむつを着用しましょう。ゴーカートと自転車貸出は16:30で終了します。雷が鳴ったらすぐに切り上げ、ゴミは持ち帰ってください。

Tips

Both the go-karts and the bicycle rentals run from 9:00 to 16:30, so arriving late may mean missing out. The go-karts cost 100 yen per kart per ride, so having coins ready keeps things smooth. In summer the park is open every day except Monday, and when a Monday falls on a public holiday it is open on that Monday and closed on the Tuesday instead.
