The Asakura Green Hometown Park water play area is a water-play spot in a free-admission park in Asakura-shimo, Imabari City. Water is channeled through the waterway running across the grounds, and you can cool off by dipping your feet in or chasing the flow. The surroundings are enveloped in rich groves worthy of the name birthplace of the Green Youth Corps, and the coolness of the water combined with the breeze in the shade makes it a comfortable place even in midsummer. Play equipment, walking paths, tennis courts and the Art and Ancient Tomb Museum are all in the same park, so there is somewhere to go even if you tire of the water. Imabari City's official guidance states that this year's water play period runs until Monday, August 31, and the starting date has not been announced. In summer it can be used on days other than Monday, and when Monday falls on a public holiday, Monday becomes usable and Tuesday unusable, so please be sure to check before you set out.

Tips

The bottom of the waterway is slippery, so have children wear non-slip water shoes rather than going barefoot or in beach sandals. There are no changing rooms or showers, so wear clothes that can get wet, or be ready to change in the car for peace of mind. Small children should wear swim diapers. As it is a countryside park, insect repellent makes it more comfortable. If you hear thunder, stop playing immediately, and please take your trash home.
