About this spot

The playground area of Otani Plaza (大谷広場) in Higashihirao Park (東平尾公園), right next to the splash pool. Its signature feature is a long roller slide that makes the most of the hillside slope, and children never stop running up and sliding back down it. There is also climbing equipment and a lawn area, so siblings of different ages can each find their own way to play. Otani Plaza just finished a full renewal of all its areas in April 2026, so the equipment and surrounding facilities are new and pleasant to use. Getting active here before water play sets up a relaxed, leisurely afternoon in the water.

Tips

The roller slide's seat can get hot in the midday summer sun, so long pants or a slide sheet will help keep things comfortable. Equipment in direct sunlight also holds heat, so take breaks in the shade often. Bring plenty to drink.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. It's best to wrap up before noon, when the sun gets strong.
