The star of summer at Gunma Flower Park + (ぐんまフラワーパークプラス), on the southern foot of Mt. Akagi, is this Gunma Flower Park + Splash Pond (ぐんまフラワーパークプラス じゃぶじゃぶ池). According to the official website, it's open from Saturday, July 18 through Monday, August 31, 2026, from 9:00 to 16:30. Showers and fountains spray water one after another, making it a water play spot where you get thoroughly soaked all over rather than simply soaking in a pool. Every Saturday and Sunday there's a Bubble Time at 11:00 and 14:00, when a huge amount of foam bursts out and turns the pond completely white. The park also spreads out with flower fields of over 13,000 plants, so when you're tired of playing you can cool off by walking through the flower beds and shaded areas. Another happy point for families is that admission is free for elementary and junior high school students during the splash pond season.

Tips

For safety, footwear that protects the feet, such as water shoes, is required. Bare feet or beach sandals may not be allowed in, so be sure to bring proper footwear. Children who are not yet potty-trained cannot use the facility. According to the official website's fee table, admission from July 18 to August 31, 2026 is 900 yen for adults, free for elementary and junior high school students, and free for preschoolers. The park is closed every Tuesday; for 2026, August 12 and August 21 are announced as extra closures, while August 11 and September 22 are announced as extra opening days. Closing time is 17:00 and last admission is 30 minutes before, so it's reassuring to plan to get out of the water and change by 16:30.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours. On weekends, arriving between 1 and 2 p.m. is recommended so you're in time for the 2 p.m. Bubble Time.
