A fishing and hands-on experience facility near the Nango Araizeki weir on the Seta River. It has fishing ponds stocked with trout and carp, so even first-time kids can feel the tug of a bite once they hold a rod. In summer, bare-hand fish catching in a shallow channel is especially popular, and the experience of wading in and chasing fish never fails to bring cheers. There's also a corner where you can grill and eat the fish you catch on the spot, making it a place where kids can feel a real sense of where their food comes from. The grounds also have playground equipment and a small aquarium corner, so you may end up spending longer here than expected.
Tips
Bare-hand fish catching runs on set days and times, so check in advance before heading over. Bring clothes you don't mind getting wet, a towel, and a change of clothes. Fish you catch generally must be taken home, so check the fee structure at the reception desk. Parking is available.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Bare-hand catching is often held in the morning, when the water is also relatively clear
