Shiibae Park (椎八重公園)

Flow of the course

About this spot

A park representative of Mimata Town, known for its scenery of round-trimmed azalea hedges lining a slope. Flowering season is spring, but even in summer the well-tended green hillside spreads out, and just walking through the park lifts the spirits. There's playground equipment and an open area, making it good for small children to run around in. It's just the right size for a quick stop before heading to the river.

Tips

Admission is free, with parking available. Shade is limited, so don't forget a hat and to stay hydrated. Keep the visit to about 30-45 minutes rather than lingering, so you save your energy for river play.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The cool morning hours are recommended
