The Kamakura Kaido (鎌倉街道) street in front of Kamiooka Station (上大岡駅) is decorated with golden lights and lantern-motif illuminations, warm and festive. It typically runs from early November to mid-February; last year it ran from November 1, 2025 to February 14, 2026, with lights on from sunset until around 23:00. The 2026 schedule and lighting hours have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before you go. Since it is a street illumination, viewing is free and open, and it is easy to combine with shopping or dinner right by the station.
