Sengen Falls (千条の滝)
Flow of the course
About this spot
A waterfall nestled in the mountains of Kowakidani (小涌谷), where countless thin streams of water cascade like a curtain over a rock face about 3 meters high and 20 meters wide. True to its name, meaning 《a thousand strands》, it's a delicate water scene best appreciated for its tranquility rather than its power. Surrounded by trees, the air in front of the falls is cool, and if you listen closely, all you'll hear is the sound of the water - a pleasant spot.
Tips
The path to the falls is unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please be careful, as the ground can be slippery right after rain.
