A walking trail runs along the gorge carved by the swift currents of the Tone River, with striking rock formations and clear water views continuing from Sasabue Bridge to Suwakyo Ohashi Bridge. The scenery is truly spectacular during the fresh-green and autumn-foliage seasons. Standing 42m high, Suwakyo Ohashi Bridge is also known as a bungee-jumping spot, and the view from the bridge is breathtaking.
Tips
Some sections of the trail are unpaved, so wear comfortable walking shoes. It can be windy on Suwakyo Ohashi Bridge on some days, so watch out for your hat blowing off.
Best time to visit
Allow 1 hour for a walk. The afternoon is when the river surface sparkles.
