A hall standing on the elevated Bangami Cape overlooking Kashiwazaki's coast, known as a sacred site associated with the saint Nichiren. The intricate wood carvings adorning the hall are impressive and reward careful viewing for their beauty. From the grounds, the horizon of the Sea of Japan spreads expansively before you, and on clear days you can even catch sight of distant Sado Island (佐渡島). It's the perfect starting point for your drive—an ideal place for both of you to pray for safe travels.
Tips
The approach to the grounds involves sloped paths and stone steps, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Parking spaces are available nearby. The beach at Bangami below can be crowded with swimmers in summer, so visiting in the morning ensures a peaceful visit. Admission is free.
