About this spot

A roadside station in the center of Kuji City, consisting of the product hall "Tsuchi-no-Kan" (Earth House) and the tourism exchange center "Kaze-no-Kan" (Wind House), serving as a hub for Kuji tourism. The facility houses a dining area serving mamebu soup, a local Kuji specialty featuring walnut and brown sugar dumplings, as well as shops stocked with seafood, mountain products, and local sweets, allowing you to enjoy lunch and souvenir shopping all in one place. Inside Kaze-no-Kan, elaborate festival floats from the grand Kuji Autumn Festival are on display—standing before them and gazing up at their magnificence is truly awe-inspiring. There's also a section featuring vintage retro products, providing nostalgic charm for grandparents and fresh discovery for grandchildren—a distinctly three-generational experience. Conveniently located in the town center, it's an easily accessible rest stop even on rainy days.

Tips

About a 10-minute walk from Kuji Station with free parking. The dining area can get crowded during lunch hours, so shifting your timing slightly will allow you to sit more comfortably. Mamebu soup may sell out, so ordering early is recommended. Souvenirs range from amber goods to seafood products; it's best to save items requiring refrigeration for last.

Best time to visit

Plan for about 1.5 hours, visiting around 1 p.m. for lunch. The festival float display can be viewed anytime without time constraints.
