A roadside station located near the gate of Yakuoji Temple, perfect as a rest stop for Hiwasa sightseeing. Within the grounds, there is a free foot bath anyone can use to slowly soothe feet tired from climbing the stone steps. The direct market is lined with vegetables, citrus fruits, and processed seafood products from Minami Town, ideal for finding souvenirs. At the product hall, you can enjoy light meals and seafood using local ingredients, and at lunch time the place is bustling with families. You can spend your time leisurely while viewing the Hiwasa River flowing nearby and the surrounding mountains—a reliable spot as a rest point during your travels.

Tips

It's convenient to bring a towel for the foot bath. The parking lot is spacious, but it gets crowded around lunchtime, so an early lunch is recommended. Popular items at the direct market sell out quickly, so secure souvenirs early.
