A Six-Minute Aerial Walk Where Tokushima Unfolds Beneath Your Feet

About this spot

A ropeway connecting the summit of Bizan (眉山), the symbol of Tokushima City, and the downtown area in approximately 6 minutes. The mountain base station is located on the 5th floor of Awa Odori Hall, and as soon as the gondola starts moving, Tokushima's streetscape spreads beneath your feet. As altitude increases, your view opens to include the flow of the Yoshii River and the mountains surrounding the city, and the aerial walk becomes so captivating you'll want to press your face to the window. Gazing at the green slopes below, you can reach Bizan Park at the summit in one swoop. The frequent operation intervals mean short wait times, and the return descent offers a slightly different perspective, with a sensation of being drawn back into the city. A must-experience for vehicle enthusiasts.

Tips

Purchasing round-trip tickets is most efficient. Standing by the window on the city side of the gondola provides an expansive view of the downtown. Weekend afternoons can attract lines, so an early morning ride is recommended.

Best time to visit

Approximately 30 minutes (approximately 6 minutes riding time). Morning light angles are favorable, and the cityscape and river courses appear clearly.
