A representative seaside park of Futami, selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Sunsets, where a gently curving white sand beach stands out against the blue Iyo Sea. The well-maintained white sand is easy to walk on even barefoot, and a promenade runs along the coast, perfect for taking it easy while listening to the waves. Cherished as a Sanctuary for Lovers, the beach is a special place for couples on a date. Since it's connected to the neighboring Michi-no-Eki Futami (道の駅ふたみ), it's also nice to take a break with soft-serve ice cream partway through your walk. The contrast between the white sand and blue sea in daylight shows a different side of Futami than its famous sunsets.
Tips
You can use the parking lot at Michi-no-Eki Futami. There's nothing on the beach to block the sun, so don't forget a hat. On windy days sand can blow around, so sunglasses are reassuring to have.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. In the bright light before noon, the contrast between the white sand and blue sea really stands out.
