About this spot

A roadside station by the sea, standing along National Route 378, popularly known as the Yuyakekoyake Line, which runs along the Iyo Sea. With an open location facing the sea, it's stocked with Futami's local specialties and souvenirs. Futami is known as a production area for chirimen jako (dried baby sardines), and its famous jako-ten and jako katsu (fried whitebait fritters and cutlets) are perfect for eating as you stroll. At the dining area you can enjoy set meals and rice bowls made with fresh seafood while looking out at the sea. The gift corner is well stocked with Ehime specialties such as citrus fruits and processed seafood products. Since it's connected to Futami Seaside Park, it's also a good idea to head back out to the beach after eating for a relaxing after-meal walk.

Tips

The dining area gets crowded around lunchtime, so arriving a little early (around noon) is the safer bet. The famous jako katsu sometimes sells out, so grab one early if you find it. Parking is free.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. At midday, with the sea visible through the windows, you can enjoy lunch and shopping at a relaxed pace.
