This tutelary shrine of the fishing village is situated near the shores of Kure. A place where people who work at sea have long prayed for bountiful catches and maritime safety, its approach path runs through a pine grove carrying the scent of the sea. The shrine's grand festival, which celebrates bumper harvests and abundant crops, is counted among the most spectacular festivals in Tosa, transforming the usually quiet precincts into a hive of activity during festival season. Just steps away from the hustle and bustle of the market, this serene atmosphere is the perfect place to pause during your food walk, offering thanks for safe travels and the delicious encounters you've experienced.
Tips
Just a few minutes' walk from Taisho-cho Market. The approach path is unpaved gravel, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The beachside can be windy, so secure your hat. The precincts are close to residential areas, so please maintain a respectful atmosphere during your visit.
Best time to visit
Allow about 30 minutes. The afternoon sun filtering through the pines softly illuminates the approach path.
