The roof of the building, covered entirely with brown Iwami-fired roof tiles, represents a unique design that incorporates local traditional crafts into modern architecture, making it a popular Masuda sightseeing spot. Inside, you can enjoy special exhibitions and permanent collections, but the building alone is well worth viewing. The surrounding area is equipped with a grassy plaza, providing just the right space for children to run around and rest in the shade. Tips

About 10 minutes on foot from JR Masuda Station. Viewing the exterior and grassy plaza is free. If entering the museum, special exhibition fees apply separately (check the official website). The facility has a café and rest areas, making it ideal for hydration and rest during this time.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. The afternoon light beautifully shows the color of the Iwami tile roof.
