This is a vast urban park located in the center of Niihama City, equipped with spacious lawns, a fountain, and play areas—a beloved gathering spot for residents. The expansive lawn is large enough for children to run around freely, and you can spend a relaxed summer afternoon resting on benches in the shade. On the day of the fireworks festival, the area around the venue will start to get crowded from the early evening, so burning off some energy here while the sun is high will allow you to enjoy the nighttime fireworks more calmly. The location is also close to the Kokuryo River venue area, making the evening transfer smooth.

2026年7月31日(金)20時開演、新居浜市の夏を代表する花火大会です。国領川河川敷の平形橋北側から打ち上がる約8,000発は、スターマインや大玉の尺玉が次々と夜空を埋め尽くし、川面に映る光の揺らぎが水辺ならではの幻想的な情景を生み出します。打ち上げ場所が近く、花火の音が体に響く迫力は河川敷観覧ならでは。夏の夜の国領川を包む光と音の1時間は、家族の夏の記憶に深く刻まれる体験になるはずです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は新居浜市または大会の公式発表で当日確認を。終了直後は周辺道路と駐車場の出口が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後はその場でしばらく余韻を楽しみ、人の流れが落ち着いてから移動するのがおすすめです。帰路は足元が暗い場所もあるため、小さなライトを用意しておくと安心です。

Tips

From JR Niihama Station, approximately 5 minutes by car. Parking available (arrive early as it gets congested from late afternoon on the day of the fireworks festival). There are restrooms in the park, so it's reassuring to use them before moving to the fireworks venue. In the hot summer, don't forget to bring a hat and drinks.
