About this spot

This is a vast urban park located in the center of Niihama City, equipped with spacious lawns, a fountain, and play areas—a beloved gathering spot for residents. The expansive lawn is large enough for children to run around freely, and you can spend a relaxed summer afternoon resting on benches in the shade. On the day of the fireworks festival, the area around the venue will start to get crowded from the early evening, so burning off some energy here while the sun is high will allow you to enjoy the nighttime fireworks more calmly. The location is also close to the Kokuryo River venue area, making the evening transfer smooth.

Tips

From JR Niihama Station, approximately 5 minutes by car. Parking available (arrive early as it gets congested from late afternoon on the day of the fireworks festival). There are restrooms in the park, so it's reassuring to use them before moving to the fireworks venue. In the hot summer, don't forget to bring a hat and drinks.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes required. The mid-afternoon when tree shade increases is a cool and comfortable time.
