About this spot

An old-time streetscape of latticed townhouses standing eave to eave, close to the boarding point for cormorant fishing on the Nagara River (長良川). Along a street where buildings from the Edo through Showa eras survive, small shops selling Japanese sundries and sweets are dotted about, and simply walking slowly gives you a sense of its atmosphere. Its appeal lies in a calm mood that still carries everyday local life, quite unlike the bustle of a tourist district, and on hot days you can rest and cool off at the shopfronts. It is just right for a light walk and a lunch hunt before the pool.

2026年は7月11日(土)から9月13日(日)まで営業する、岐阜市が運営する屋外の市民プールです(毎日開場は7月18日から8月31日まで、それ以外の期間は土日のみの開場)。25m×17mの8コースプールは水深1.1〜1.2mで、泳ぎ盛りの小学生でも十分に楽しめる本格的なつくり。隣には水深の浅い幼児用プールも併設されており、小さな子ども連れでも安心して水遊びができます。大人240円・小中学生120円という手頃な料金設定も魅力で、地元の家族連れに親しまれている夏の定番スポットです。午後は営業終了の17時まで、たっぷり水遊びを満喫できます。

Tips

営業は17時までなので、昼食を済ませてから12時ごろの入場が余裕を持って遊べます。日陰が限られる時間帯もあるため、レジャーシートや帽子で暑さ対策をしておくと安心です。混雑する日もあるので、貴重品はロッカー等を利用しましょう。

Tips

The street is narrow and cars pass through, so hold hands when walking with children. Restaurants are limited in number, so at busy times either go in early or use takeaway to keep moving.
