About this spot

An aquarium on the Teradomari (寺泊) coast displaying a wide variety of creatures, centered on the fish and shellfish that live in the Sea of Japan. Schools of fish swimming in the large tank and hands-on encounters at the touch pool make up a rich lineup of exhibits that children love. Knowing what creatures live in the Teradomari (寺泊) sea you are about to swim in makes the afternoon at the beach even more fun. The building is air-conditioned, so it also comes in handy as a rest stop during the hottest hours of summer.

新潟県長岡市の寺泊エリアにある海水浴場で、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月16日(日)まで開設されます。遊泳は無料で、更衣室が完備されているほか、有料の温水シャワーも利用できるので、着替えや潮を落とすのに困りません。砂浜には浜茶屋が2軒あり、食事や休憩の拠点として使えます。トイレも完備されているので、小さな子ども連れでも安心。日本海に面した開放的な砂浜で、波打ち際の水遊びから砂遊びまで、夕方まで思いきり夏を満喫できます。なお、BBQは行えないので注意しましょう。

Tips

遊泳は無料ですが、温水シャワーと浜茶屋の利用は有料なので小銭を用意しておきましょう。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダルが必携です。BBQ利用はできないため、飲食は浜茶屋や持参のお弁当で楽しみましょう。

Tips

Only about 5 minutes by car from Teradomari Chuo Beach (寺泊中央海水浴場). It can get crowded during the summer holidays, so a morning visit is recommended. There is also a souvenir corner inside.
