Walk Through One of Japan's Three Great Pine Forests Toward Irohama

One of Japan's three great pine forests, alongside Niji no Matsubara (Saga) and Miho no Matsubara (Shizuoka), Kehi Pine Forest spans approximately 1.5 km with roughly 17,000 black and red pine trees. The view of Tsuruga Bay through the pine forest offers open, refreshing scenery—a perfect brief stop on the way to Mizushima. With ample shade, it's an ideal cooling-off rest point during hot summer sun. Irohama Port is just beyond here.

敦賀市・色浜の沖合いに浮かぶ小さな無人島で、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月30日(日)まで開設され、9月5日(土)・6日(日)も渡船が運航します。色浜港から渡船に乗ってしか渡ることができない立地ゆえに開発の手が入らず、コバルトブルーに透き通る海と真っ白な砂浜は「日本のハワイ」とも称されるほどの美しさです。売店やシャワーはなく簡易トイレのみというシンプルな設備ですが、その手つかずの自然こそがこの島最大の魅力。波打ち際でのんびり水遊びをしたり、シュノーケリングで魚を観察したりと、家族で夕方まで思い思いの時間を過ごせます。

Tips

渡船は色浜港から出航し、往復運賃は大人(中学生以上)1,600円、小学生750円(環境美化協力金込み)です。売店・シャワーがないため、飲み物・食事・日除けは事前にしっかり準備を。日陰も少ないのでテントやパラソルがあると安心です。ゴミは持ち帰りましょう。

About 10 minutes by car from Japan Sea Fish Market. Located along the route toward Irohama Port, making it ideal for a brief stop while monitoring ferry schedules. The forest trails are shady and easy to walk.
